Jenessa McElfresh is the Health Sciences Librarian at Clemson University and works primarily with faculty and students in the departments of Nursing, Public Health Sciences, Genetics & Biochemistry, and the interdisciplinary School of Health Research. Prior to joining the Clemson Libraries’ team in 2017, she was a hospital medical librarian for Kaiser Permanente Northern California. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Agnes Scott College and an MLIS from Kent State University, and she maintains Senior-level membership in AHIP. Her research explores the interpersonal experiences of academic and health-affiliated librarians through the lens of organizational psychology, including a 2020 article in JMLA on health sciences librarians' perceptions of workplace intergenerational communications and ongoing work on intersectional workplace experiences.
