Ms. Emily Shohfi, MLIS, AHIP is a Clinical Librarian at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, MD. She serves as the liaison to the Internal Medicine, Medical Intensive Care Unit, and Psychiatry departments. In this role, she attends inpatient teaching rounds, conducting real-time searches of the evidence for clinicians and trainees. She is an expert searcher of a variety of clinical information tools to retrieve literature at the point of care. Emily also provides consultation and expertise for hospital personnel in literature searching for their clinical and research topics. In addition to searching services, Emily provides instruction and training in searching techniques, citation management, EBM, and mobile apps. Emily is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, and is one of the co-directors of the IM Evidence-Based Medicine curriculum. She serves on the Innovation and Development Sub-Committee at the Uniformed Services University's F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine. She has a special interest in empathy and medical humanism, and helps co-direct the library's medical humanism book club.
