I have a BS in Biology from Grove City College and an Masters in Library Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. My first library job was a temporary maternity leave replacement at Diamond Shamrock in Ashtabula, OH. I then took a job at Case Western Reserve University as a Circuit Librarian, working in two smaller hospitals, Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, OH and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Warren, OH.
I was at Case Western for almost 6 years before she moved to Durham to take a position at Duke University’s Medical Center Library as a reference librarian. I have been at Duke since 1986 and is currently responsible for teaching EndNote, NIH Public Access Compliance monitoring, and gathering the annual statistics, which the Library submits to two national organizations.
I have been a member of the Medical Library Association since 1977 and is a Distinguished member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals. I have served as Chair of the MLA Oral History Committee, the Grants & Scholarships Committee, and the Awards Committee, and has participated on various Awards and Grant & Scholarship Juries, along with several other committees. I am also active in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of MLA
