Zach Sneed, PhD, CRC, LCDC, BC-TMH is the Program Director for Addiction Counseling, and an Assistant Professor, in the Department of Clinical Counseling and Mental Health at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC). He is also the Assistant Dean for Outcomes and Assessment for the School of Health Professions at TTUHSC. He earned his doctorate in Rehabilitation from Southern Illinois University and has more than 15 years of clinical and research experience working with people with addiction and a variety of disabilities. He has served as a professional subject matter expert for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and NBCC - the National Board for Certified Counselors. He has designed and overseen research and evaluation for various projects, related to the health, education and employment of people with disabilities. His clinical research interest targets co-occurring disorders and co-existing disabilities: where substance use disorders, behavioral, and process addictions intersect with other disability types. Dr. Sneed’s current research topics include factors affecting outcomes in addiction treatment settings; medical marijuana/cannabis use and expectancies; and methamphetamine epidemiology. He currently sits on the editorial boards for the Journal of Counseling and Development and the Alcoholism Treatment Quarterly. Dr. Sneed is an Offender Employment Specialist, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and Board Certified in Telemental Health. He is currently engaged with interprofessional research teams within the TTUHSC Libraries of the Health Sciences, and the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Biomedical Sciences as well as other universities.
