Data is the foundation of research, and effective data publishing is key for understanding, accessing and advancing research to address challenges in science and society, especially in times of crisis. The Dryad Digital Repository (https://datadryad.org) is a researcher-led general-purpose repository providing curation and publishing of open research data. Built on the principles of open scholarly infrastructure and integrated with the scholarly literature, we publish more than 7000 datasets per year, working to facilitate open data sharing and re-use.
