Online Conversations for Equity, Action, and Networking (OCEAN) is a webinar series dedicated to amplifying early career Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) marine researchers in New England. Funded by Woods Hole Sea Grant, OCEAN documents the research and increases the visibility of four early career researchers by inviting them to present at a department seminar, interview for a student-run podcast, and meet with undergraduate students at a ‘Meet the Speaker’ event. We hope the lessons learned from this pilot can serve as a resource for other programs looking to elevate early career BIPOC researchers.
