With climate change, food security, and environmental justice challenges upon us, the importance of conducting impactful science to inform soil health stewardship cannot be overstated. In this talk, I will highlight the ways our team at Point Blue Conservation Science engages with ranchers, government agencies, NGOs, and other scientists to conduct research and monitoring that directly informs soil health policy and management of California’s rangelands. Supporting my discussion will be general principles and approaches that we and others have found important for facilitating the creation of science that informs equitable action and maximizes impact.
