Gabriel is a PhD candidate at Concordia University, where he studies the spatiotemporal variation of ecological processes forming multitrophic communities in ecosystems around the planet. He also did a MSc. at the Institute f Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics of the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. There he studied the Macroecology of palm-frugivore interactions in the tropics. He also obtained a BSc. from USFQ in Quito-Ecuador. In his honours thesis Gabriel studied the altitudinal gradients in the composition of araneid spiders in the Ecuadorian Andes.
