School of Environmental Sustainability, Loyola University Chicago
I am a masters student with an interest in invasion ecology. During my undergraduate at the University of Iowa, I pursued a BS in Environmental Science and a BA in English. Post-college, I worked as a Conservation Land Management Intern for the Chicago Botanic Gardens, where I was contracted as a Wilderness Ranger to the Bureau of Land Management in Burns, OR. In this position I was mainly responsible for field studies and recreation programs. Following the Botanic Gardens, I interned with the Urban Wildlife Institute at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, where I worked on small mammal and epidemiological studies. After my position with the zoo, I went on to work for ABC Humane Wildlife, as a Research Project Manager. In this role, I oversaw projects relating to rodent epidemiology, environmentally friendly pesticides, species distributions, and Illinois DNR wildlife data. Currently, I am working towards a MS in Environmental Science at the Loyola University in Chicago. My area of focus lies in studying fresh water ecology, creating statistical models, and generating maps of invasive species distributions. Outside of work and school, I am an avid rock climber, reader, and hiker.
