Centre for Ecology Development and Research
My name is Anvita Pandey and I have a doctorate in Environment Sciences. I am working as a coordinator at Centre for Ecology Development and Research (CEDAR), Dehradun since 2013. I was a DST INSPIRE Fellow at Doon University and have received Young Scientist Award for my research work by Uttarakhand State Council for Science and technology. I started my professional career as a Climate Change researcher where I explored myself in forestry, ecology, agriculture, water, and urbanization. I was fortunate to be chosen for trainings in Germany, Denmark, University of Cambridge and Scotland on disaster risk reduction and issues related to water security. My exposure in this field has been at the international level and very recently I was invited to COP-24 organized by UNFCCC at Katowice, Poland to participate and deliver on issues related to climate change and gender. Over the last 7 years, I have handled multiple projects at CEDAR in areas of forest degradation, water security, disaster management, climate change and ecosystem services funded by Government of India and International agencies like IDRC, Canada, University of Cambridge, ESPA, UK ICLEI South-Asia. I have worked in projects with University of Cambridge, Kalamazoo College, U.S.A and University of Minnesota as a lead researcher on issues related to Climate change, forest, water, disaster management and horticulture (with respect to Apples). My strength in all these 7 years has been conducting outreach activities with government departments, schools and colleges, doing good research, writing and working with the government agencies and community.
