James Moore was born and raised in Nashville, TN. He pursued a MUP at Harvard in 2010 and a MLA at University of Virginia in 2013. He first practiced at Waterstreet Studio on projects ranging from private estates to public institutions. In 2014, James joined HPI in Nashville where he worked on and eventually led a full range of research, planning, design and construction projects. In 2020, he started work as the University Landscape Architect at Vanderbilt. There, he offers design and planning services to the university community; advocates for excellence and sustainability in campus spaces; and directs the arboretum.
