Abrahm Lustgarten is a senior environmental reporter focused on climate change. He writes for the investigative news outlet ProPublica, and works with the New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, and PBS Frontline, among others. His three-part series in the New York Times Magazine in 2020 explored mass migration in response to climate change. His 2017 investigation into the Defense Department's legacy of toxic pollution on U.S. lands received the Nina Mason Pulliam Award from the Society of Environmental Journalists. His 2015 series about water scarcity in the American West, “Killing the Colorado,” was a finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize.
