Sam is a candidate in the MLA program at Harvard GSD, where his research focuses on the communal spaces of marginalized urban communities. Prior to his current studies, he practiced with Richard Burck Associates, where he designed and managed campus and public-realm projects, including downtown streetscapes and waterfront parklands in Boston and new social landscapes on Georgia Tech’s campus in Atlanta. Sam is a licensed landscape architect in Massachusetts and Georgia. In 2009, after earning his BLA from the UGA, Sam’s first job placed him in a desk in Olmsted’s old bedroom at Frederick Law Olmsted NHS in Brookline, Massachusetts.
