Learning Outcomes:

Demonstrate landscape architecture skills as key to coordinating a complex, multi-agency partnership, consultant team, and public process to retrofit a public waterfront as a foundational and resilient community amenity.
Discover the lessons learned and the challenges of conducting a community planning process that launched and was completed in the midst of COVID-19, social unrest, and political change.
Identify methods for balancing and addressing the needs of diverse communities, public agencies, stakeholders, and partner groups with competing interests and for building coalitions to support implementation.
Explore how resiliency projects align to improve public and ecological health, support community and economic development goals, and provide opportunities to bridge long-standing, historic divides between communities and underutilized assets.
