In this session, we reflect on how applying research, data collection, and analysis to three different project types (medical centers, therapeutic gardens, and ecological planning) positively impacted project outcomes, including usability. Strategies to demystify the research process and make it a seamless part of the design process are discussed.

Learning Outcomes:

Acknowledge the benefits of research and how it informs a more diversified, inclusive, and equitable design process.
Define and understand evidence-based research processes and methods related to landscape architecture practices.
Reflect upon ways to incorporate evidence-based research and data collection into current and future projects.
Explore methods to establish vibrant inter, intra, and transdisciplinary research and design partnerships.
