This case study will provide an overview of an historical sex abuse investigation, which evolved into an attempted murder investigation when it was discovered that the defendant had made plans to murder the victim in his case, using a scheme taken right out of the television show, "Breaking Bad." Attendees will see how quickly even "charged" cases can change course and learn about the importance of the victim interview and the subsequent corroboration of the details provided within that interview. Attendees will also be exposed to the hurdles that had to be overcome in this investigation, and will receive helpful takeaways to have at their disposal for their own sex abuse investigations. This workshop will only be recorded and available On-Demand from August 9, 2021 until December 17, 2021.
Upon completion, participant will be able to identify potential hurdles on the front end of a sexual abuse investigation, and then plan on how best to overcome those hurdles
Upon completion, the patricipant will be able to craft victim interview questions which will assist in proving elements of sex abuse, at trial.
Upon completion, the participant will learn overall strategies in conducting sexual abuse investigations.
