PhD Canadidate
Department of Animal Science, University of Manitoba
Hello/Bonjour everyone,
My name is Chongwu Yang, a Ph. D canadidate in Department of Animal Science, University of Manitoba and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). I am supervisd by Dr. Chengbo Yang (associate professor) and co-supervised by Dr. Joshua Gong (research scientisit) and Dr. Moussa Diarra (research scientist). My Ph. D research project is focus on 'essential oils as antimicrobial alternatives in broiler chickens' In addition to broiler chicken nutrition study, I am also specilized on molecular microbiology in foodborne pathogens.I will have one poster and one oral presentations for student competitions. The poster title"Antimicrobial Resistance Phenotype and Genotype of Generic Escherichia coli from Encapsulated and Citral Fed-Broiler Chicken "is my second study on investigating the effects of encapsulated cinnamaldehyde and citral as feed supplementations on antimicrobial resistance profiles and virulence of commensal E. coli in boriler chickens. The oral competitions titled "Virulence Potential of Antimicrobial Resistant Extraintestinal Pathogenic Escherichia coli from Poultry in a Caenorhabditis elegans Model" is my third study on further evaluating whether antimicrobial resistant E. coli from poultry have zoonotic potentials using C. elegans life span model. I am glad to give the presentations in ASAS-CSAS, if you have any questions on my poster and oral, you can further communicate with me by email (chongwuyang66@gmail.com). Thanks.
Enjoy the meetting and wish you all the best!
