My current PhD research focuses on the elucidation of natural development of the bovine gastrointestinal microbiome from birth through to adulthood using metagenomic and metatranscriptomic investigative tools. I also study the effectivness of novel diet-derived chemicals in enhancing intestinal health, animal growth, and gut manipulating the gut microbiome in young calves.
