John K. Htoo obtained a B.Sc. (Ing.) agr. (Animal Production) from Netherlands, and a M.Sc. agr. and a Dr. sc. agr. (Animal nutrition) from Germany (Georg-August University, Goettingen). After a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in swine nutrition from 2004 to 2006 at the University of Alberta, Canada, he moved to the feed industry in 2007 as a research manager in swine nutrition, in September 2013 as a senior manager swine nutrition research in the animal nutrition research group of Evonik. Since January 2018, he took over the responsibility as the Global Expert Swine (Director Technical Consultancy Swine) within the same company. His main research topics include the estimations of amino acids requirements, the interactions of amino acid nutrition and immune function and antibiotic alternatives (gut health solutions), development of advanced feeding concepts such as low protein diets, the next limiting amino acids, net energy requirements, and evaluation amino acids digestibility of feed ingredients for pigs.
