Pedro Freitas has a degree in Animal Science from 2018 by the Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil working with Animal breeding and Genetics in dairy goats. In 2019, he got his master degree also in Animal Science for the same university working with Genomic Prediction for milk components estimated by mid-infrared spectroscopy in dairy cattle. He started his PhD at Purdue University (US) in 2019 and has experience in Data Analysis, Genetic Diversity evaluation, and Genetic and Genomic Prediction. Currently his interests focus on Genetic and Genomic studies underling heat stress in livestock, specially in improving animals’ adaptation and performance during heat stress events through genomics.
