Utah State University
My name is Ms. Laura Smith, BS, and I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Utah State University. My research interests include elucidating the molecular mechanisms through which nutrition impacts growth and performance of livestock animals. I obtained an Associate of Science degree in Agriculture from Northeast Community College in 2015. I then graduated Cum Laude from Northwest Missouri State University in December of 2017 with bachelor's degrees in both Agribusiness and Animal Science. At Northwest Missouri State University, I was involved in a variety of organizations such as Delta Tau Alpha Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, The National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority, Collegiate Farm Bureau, ATA/CFFA/PAS, and Block and Bridle. I am currently attending Utah State University and working towards my Doctor of Philosophy in Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences with an emphasis in Animal Nutrition and Growth Biology and I plan on graduating this December, 2021.
