Professor Foluke Abimbola Aderemi was born on the 15th day of July 1964 into the family of Pa Adeleke and Madam Abigail Bolajoko Abolarinwa of Aapate compound, Isedo, Ila Orangun. She attended Yejide Girls Grammar School, Molete, Ibadan from 1977 and there developed keen interest in Agricultural Science and found herself in the first set of an all-girl school to take examination in the course at the School Certificate level. Fortuitously, her elder brother and role model studied Agriculture, and that aroused her interest in the field.
In 1986, she had a distinction in the National Certificate of Education (Agricultural Education) at the Oyo State College of Education, Ila Orangun (now Osun State College of Education), and a Bachelor of Science (Education) Second Class (Upper Division) in Agricultural Science of Bendel State University Abraka in 1990. She obtained M.Sc. and PhD of the University of Ibadan in Animal science in 1994 and 2001 respectively. While on her PhD, she was a Teaching Assistant.
She joined the services of Bowen University as a pioneer staff in the erstwhile Faculty of Agriculture in 2002 and has served on several committees in the University. She was a Sub Dean of Student Affairs, Head of Department of Animal Science and Fisheries Management, Dean Faculty of Agriculture and is a Congregation representative on the Governing Council.
In 2011, she won the prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) and a travel grant by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for Animal Science Conference held in Phoenix Arizona United States.
She's a member of World Poultry Science Africa Branch, Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASAN)(NIAS/AAS/00083), Nigeria Society for Experimental Biology (NISEB), Nigeria Society of Animal Production (NSAP), Third World Organization for Women in Science (TWOWS), All Africa Society of Animal Agriculture (AASAP)
