Sharon A. Norton, Ph.D., joined Diamond V in 2020 as the Director of Companion Animal Research & Technical Support. In this role she directs networks and processes for Diamond V as a part of Cargill Health Technologies (CHT), and forms connections with leading academics, institutes and companies to advance evidence-based thought leadership in the companion animal sector encompassing dog, cat, horse, rabbit and backyard flock programs.
Prior to joining Diamond V, Dr. Norton was the Swine Technology Application Lead within the Cargill Animal Nutrition Division at Provimi North America in the Strategic Marketing and Technology group with responsibility for development and management of external research programs. She has over 30 years of experience in product and program development throughout her career in pet, agricultural and human nutrition sectors at the Mathile Institute for the Advancement of Human Nutrition, Proctor & Gamble, the IAMS Company and the Wayne Feeds Division of Continental Grain.
Dr. Norton earned her B.S. and M.S. in Animal Nutrition from Virginia Polytechnic & State University, received her Ph.D. in Monogastric Nutrition from Oklahoma State University, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the USDA-ARS in Beltsville, MD.
