Leah Nelson, MD MS, is a second year Pediatric Addiction Medicine Fellow at Boston Children's Hospital. Originally from Durango, Colorado, Dr. Nelson completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at CU-Boulder and the Colorado School of Mines, respectively. She then attended medical school at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, residency in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of New Mexico, was the innaugural Fellow in the UNM Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program, and now is completing a secnd year felowship specializing in Peiatric Addiction. Her special interests include adolescent addiction, incorporating family into addiction treatment, promotion of healthy lifetyle changes in addiction clinical settings, and perinatal addiction.
