Dr. Lauren Smanik, DVM, MS is a post-doctoral fellow in Colorado State University’s Department of Clinical Sciences. She attended veterinary school at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Upon graduating from vet school in 2016, she completed a 1-year rotating equine internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center, a private referral equine hospital. She then completed an academic internship in large animal medicine, surgery, and critical care at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center. Most recently, in July 2021, she completed a three-year residency program in equine surgery and lameness at Colorado State University. Dr. Smanik’s clinical and research interests include equine orthopedic surgery, subchondral bone pathology, and osteochondral disease.
