Rebecca Reader, DVM, DACVAA is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Doctor
of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University in 2013. Dr. Reader spent a year in private practice before returning to Tufts in 2014 for a combined internship in Anesthesia and Emergency/Critical Care, followed by a three year residency in Anesthesia and Pain Management. Dr. Reader was the Staff Anesthesiologist at Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine in North Haven, CT prior to rejoining the Anesthesia Department at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Fall of 2019. Her clinical interests include critical care anesthesia, as well as the management of perioperative pain, stress and anxiety in hospitalized patients. Dr. Reader is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia, a member of the International Veterianary Academy of Pain Management, and is certified in veterinary medical acupuncture through the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association/Curacore Integrative Medicine.
