Dr. Selmic is an associate professor in surgical oncology at The Ohio State University. She graduated with a bachelor’s in veterinary medicine from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 2004. Following two years in private practice and an internship, she completed a residency in small animal surgery at Texas A&M University in 2010. In 2011, she completed a clinical fellowship in oncologic surgery at the Flint Animal Cancer Center, Colorado State University (CSU). In 2012, she became a Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgery. She is an ACVS Founding Fellow, Surgical Oncology. She spent two years as a research scientist at CSU and completed a master of public health degree with focus in applied biostatistics in 2013. She joined The Ohio State University in 2018. Dr. Selmic’s research interests include imaging to enhance surgical planning and assessment of surgical margins, cancer epidemiology, clinical trial, and study design.
