Dr. Bertran attended veterinary school at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. After graduating, she completed a small animal surgery and internal medicine internship at Washington State University. She then completed an internship in small animal surgery at Fitzpatrick Referrals, which led to a research fellowship in small animal surgery at The Ohio State University. Upon completion of the fellowship, Dr. Bertran enrolled in a small animal surgery residency at The Ohio State University. As a resident, Dr. Bertran completed a master's project focused on total knee replacement biomechanics using robotic technology. With a strong interest in oncology, Dr. Bertran pursued specialization in surgical oncology and completed an ACVS Fellowship in surgical oncology. Dr. Bertran is currently involved in several research projects and clinical trials based on oncological-based novel techniques and treatment strategies. Her main interests are limb-sparing and osteosarcoma, immunotherapies, minimally invasive surgery, and skin reconstruction.
