In this lecture, the speaker shares three very challenging casesEach required the speaker to seek advice from physician surgeons well as veterinary colleagues. These cases were all initially septic and had skin loss in difficult to manage places. Success was achieved through traditional debridement and alternative methods of wound bed creation prior to closure with more traditional graft and flap methods. Nutritional support and pain management were felt to be important considerations to the the final outcome.
