The objective of this talk is to discuss when and how cross-sectional imaging, particularly computed tomography, can be used to improve surgical management of various conditions of the equine head and cranial to mid-cervical region. Numerous cases are reviewed spanning multiple disease processes to highlight this. Additionally, the feasibility and safety of regularly using computed tomography in the standing horse is reviewed.
