The seminar covers a broad range of contemporary topics including the use of prosthetics in farm animal species, updates on abdominal surgery in cattle and obstructive urolithiasis in small ruminants, and management of surgical complications. Attendees are encouraged to participate in a discussion using complicated orthopedic and soft tissue cases as the panelists present and discuss case progression and clinical reasoning processes. At the conclusion, participants have a better comprehension of case selection in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, deeper understanding of variables that contribute to surgical complications and outcomes, and insight into novel procedures through presentation of abstracts relating to farm animal surgery.
