Natalie Pekney, PhD is an environmental engineer on the Field Monitoring Team in the Geologic and Environmental Systems Directorate of the U.S. Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA. She received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Natalie currently conducts air quality research as it pertains to fossil energy production and use. She is the Technical Portfolio Lead for NETL's Natural Gas Infrastructure Program, which focuses on quantifying and mitigating emissions from components of the natural gas value chain.
