George is an Environmental Scientist and the Model Clearinghouse Director in the Air Quality Modeling Group (AQMG) of EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS). He leads the efforts of the Dispersion Modeling Team and is a primary point of contact within the Agency on the interpretation and application of the Guideline on Air Quality Models (Appendix W to 40 CFR Part 51), modeling guidance documents, and clarification memorandums. George actively engages with the Regional Offices and by extension the state and local permitting authorities to resolve regulatory modeling issues and adequately justify alternative model demonstrations. He also is responsible for planning and managing the annual Regional, State, and Local Modelers' Workshops and the triennial Conference on Air Quality Modeling. Additionally, George joined the EPA at the beginning of 2011 after a twelve-and-a-half-year tenure with the NC Division of Air Quality (NCDAQ) as a Senior Meteorologist/Forecaster and Attainment Planning Air Quality Modeler. George is a proud graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Meteorology and focus in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
