Professor
Federal University of Espirito Santo
Prof. Bruno Furieri undertook his PhD studies at the Institut Mines Télécom Lille-Douai in France where he investigated the influence of non-erodible particle on wind erosion of diffuse sources through numerical and experimental techniques. He is currently Professor in Air Pollution at the Department of Environmental Engineering within Federal University of Espirito Santo (UFES). During his time at UFES he has been a visiting professorial fellow at the University of Nantes in France where he carried out wind tunnel characterization of monodispersed sand transport flux for collisional suspension regime. Since 2012, he has published six articles in high quality, peer-reviewed international journals, with more than fifteen articles in national and international conference proceedings. He has also successfully co-supervised three PhD students and two Master students. Since 2015, Dr. Furieri co-leads research projects where he is responsible to carry out experimental measurements of particulate matter aeolian erosion in wind tunnel. He is part of the Air Quality Research group at UFES, which comprises eight academic staff, three of whom also hold CNPq researcher scholarships, one post-doctoral researcher and over twenty PhD students. His research group has obtained a grant for Excellence in Research (2011-2015) to the value of US$ 220,000.00 from the local funding agency (PRONEX FAPES/CNPq).
