This is Mithila Chakraborty, a current PhD student and Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) at The University of Texas at Arlington, focusing on Solid Waste Management research. Sustainable Solid Waste Engineering and Management, a sub-stream of Civil Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is a new emerging arena to study and focus on the Solid Wastes. I am currently working on preparing multi-adsorber from wastes that have the capability to adsorb heavy metals and organics from landfill leachate. I am also focusing on organic diversion of food and yard wastes to fleet fuel research. As a GRA i have also worked on research based on manhole corrosion protection. I did my Undergraduate and Masters from Department of Soil, Water and Environment at The University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have worked on Characterizing Wetlands during my Masters study. I have also worked on finding out commercial application of wastes during my undergraduate research. Researches based on Solid waste management is something that i always feel interested in. I have published my research results in some peer reviewed journals too. Now-a days I am working as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) at UTA. Previously, i was a Research Assistant at Center for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) at BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have also worked as Lab In-charge in 3R Environmental Consulting Limited,Dhaka, Bangladesh.
