John Kominsky, CIH, CSP, is a Vice President at Environmental Quality Management, Inc. (EQM) headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has a M.Sc. degree in Industrial Hygiene and B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering. He is, by examination, Certified Industrial Hygienist by American Board of Industrial Hygiene, Certified Safety Professional by American Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager – Master Level by American Academy of Hazardous Materials Management. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer reviewed articles on occupational, environmental, and public health and has spoken on these topics to numerous professional groups. He holds patent US 7,758,813 B2; an environmental exposure assessment technology used to determine the releasability of chemicals from soil into air. He has conducted numerous qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments in myriad of manufacturing and non-manufacturing settings.
Mr. Kominsky has received several prestigous awards in recognition of his contribution to exposure assessments in both occupational and non-occupational settings. He has received City of New York Proclamation for technical services regarding assessment of environmental contaminants from World Trade Center disaster; Colonel Aide-de-Camp Award from New Mexico Governor for technical guidance in assessment/remediaation PCB/PCDD/PCDF contamination of New Mexico State Highway Department Office Building; Kentucky Colonel Award from Kentucky Governor for technical guidance in assessment/remediation hexachlorocyclopentadiene contamination of City of Louisville sewer system; and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services award in recognition of outstanding technical contributions in evaluating and remediation of PCB/PCDD/ PCDF hazards in occupational settings.
