Luis Figueroa is a civil engineering student at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM) in Santiago, Chile. His focus of study is in hydraulic engineering. In 2019, he completed a 6-month internship at Chile’s main copper mining company, Corporación Nacional del Cobre (CODELCO) in their Department of Hydraulic Resources. Currently, he is pursuing his research thesis investigating changes in snow albedo and radiative forcing for hydric models by using remote sensing data from the Central Andes basin. He hopes to continue his work in the hydraulic discipline of civil engineering.
