Byron Burrows, P.E., BCEE is currently the Director - Environmental Services at Tampa Electric Company and he has worked at TECO Energy for over 20 years. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida, is a professional engineer in Florida, and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer with a specialization in air pollution control. He has over 35 years of experience in the environmental field with particular emphasis on sustainability, air monitoring, emissions testing, and permitting. Mr. Burrows leads the corporate environmental team representing the company in air, land, water, auditing, and stewardship initiatives. We are very proud of our Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach Florida, where visitors can see manatees in a federally designated manatee sanctuary and learn about the great example of nature thriving with technology. The Center is expected to reopen in November 2021 with an exciting new addition. The Center for Conservation (CFC) is a 20-acre campus located in Apollo Beach, Florida and exists as a partnership between the Tampa Electric Company (TECO), the Florida Aquarium, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), and the University of Florida. CFC is an integral part of the 500+-acre Florida Conservation and Technology Center, which also includes TECO’s Manatee Viewing Center, Clean Energy Demonstration Center, kayak and hiking trails, and solar arrays.
