Air Quality Specialist
University of Toronto
Ezzat Jaroudi, PhD, air quality specialist, University of Toronto.
Ezzat completed his bachelors and masters in mechanical engineering focusing on thermal and fluid sciences. After a brief spell in the oil and gas industry as a piping engineer, he moved to air quality research where some of his earlier projects studied the health hazards of shisha smoke, the impact of residential power generators on air quality, and the air quality in Beirut.
During his PhD at the university of Toronto, Ezzat was involved in a study of the spatial and temporal trends of pollutants around the Greater Toronto area, as well as developing a land use regression model to predict the level of pollutants around the city.
The main focus of his thesis was how different factors affect the performance of electrostatic precipitators in the pulp and paper industry, and how changing the operating conditions could impact emissions.
Currently, as a clean gas technology specialist, Ezzat helps clients evaluate the condition of their installations and advises them on opportunities for improvement.
Ezzat is interested in expanding his expertise into the broader field of climate change and sustainability.
