Research Manager
Global Analizer Systems Limited
Charles is a chemist with a Ph.D. from University of Calgary and the inventor of a new photolytic NO2 converter. He has a specialization in air monitoring instrument development using cutting edge technology based on Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy, system automation using LabVIEW and has extensive research experience in ambient air pollution issues relating to nitrogen oxides and ozone. Since joining Global Analyzer systems limited in 2015, he has established a robust Research and Development unit tasked with creating and/or enhancing existing measurement technologies to better serve the client base of GASL and the general measurement/monitoring industry.
In 2015, Charles together with the team at GASL invented a technology capable of photo-dissociating NO2 to NO using LEDS. After successful field trials, the Photolysis converter is now patented and being commercialized by GASL to serve as a true NO2 converter for transforming existing Chemiluminiscence NO-NO2-NOx analyzers to truly measure NO2 accurately and precisely as well as new instrument development adopting it as the main converter.
