J. W. Morrow
Dr. Jim Morrow is an environmental management consultant specializing in air quality and for 47 years has worked throughout the Pacific Region from California west to the Island of Palau and from Alaska south to the Solomon Islands. Since 1974, he has conducted hundreds of modeling analyses, prepared hundreds of air permit applications and designed and conducted air monitoring projects for a variety of pollutants including volcanic aerosols, airborne uranium and particulate matter from industrial and military operations. He has chaired Hawaii air rules committees, served on Hawaii's Environmental Quality Commission, chaired Hawaii's Environmental Council and in those capacities helped draft air pollution control and environmental impact statement rules. He has also served as Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Hawaii's School of Public Health lecturing on occupational lung disease and all aspects of air pollution. He served 30 years (active and reserve) in the U.S. Army with a specialty in nuclear, biological and chemical defense. Jim holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire, an M.S. in Public Health and a Doctorate in Public Health from the University of Hawaii. He has been a member of A&WMA since 1976, serving in a number of positions over the years in support of the Technical Council.
