Mr. Ken Mitchell with EPA Region 4 will discuss current EPA initiatives and recent changes within the agency, as well as specific issues in Region 4 and Florida. Mr. Jeff Koerner, the Florida DEP’s Director of Air Resource Management, and recipient of the 2021 AWMA S. Smith Griswold Outstanding Air Pollution Official Award, will present the latest information regarding Florida’s air quality and initiatives at DEP. Mr. Byron Burrows, the Environmental Director for Tampa Electric Company, and AWMA Florida Section Board member, will discuss recent emission trends in the utility industry, and possibilities regarding further reductions. And Mr. Robert Manning, Shareholder at Hopping Green & Sams and former Chair of the AWMA Florida Section and Big Bend Chapter, will present the current status of important air quality-related cases in federal and Florida courts.
