The focus of this panel session is on the effective use of remote/virtual auditing techniques given the current COVID-19 pandemic when being onsite to evaluate or audit a facility is not possible. It will include a discussion of communication technologies such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, etc., Virtual Plant Tours using real-time and/or recorded video, photos, and diagrams, and third party resources such as consultants or environmental professionals from nearby facilities. Even after the pandemic, many of these techniques may be used to improve the effectiveness of auditing and compliance, representing improved environmental resiliency in the future. Attendees will hear from experts in industry and consulting on the experiences of virtual auditing, selection and use of the appropriate techniques, and best practices for applying remote/virtual methods.
