The PANDAS Physicians Network (PPN) is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to maintaining the PPN Guidelines for Diagnostics and Therapeutics, fostering continuous PANS/PANDAS education and communication within the multi-disciplinary medical community, and sponsoring research for developing diagnostic tests and treatment protocols.
Children with PANS/PANDAS experience an abrupt and dramatic onset of OCD or restrictive eating plus additional symptoms from at least two of the following categories:
· Anxiety and/or separation anxiety
· Emotional Lability/Rages
· Depression
· Behavioral Regression
· Deterioration in School Performance
· Sensory or Motor Abnormalities (including tics)
· Somatic Signs and Symptoms, including Sleep Disturbances or Urinary Frequency
