Dentoalveolar services cover a wide range of procedures. In order to properly code and bill these services, oral and maxillofacial surgeons and their staff need to maintain appropriate knowledge and competence in this area. This session will help simplify dentoalveolar procedure coding by reviewing coding guidelines, discussing payer policies and providing a detailed review of the procedures and associated diagnoses.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
Apply correct coding guidelines to dentoalveolar cases.
Discuss coding differences when reporting dentoalveolar services to medical vs. dental payers.
Demonstrate correct coding for a variety of dentoalveolar procedures and services, including extractions, removal of residual roots, coronectomies, I&Ds, alveoloplasties and more.
