DMD Candidate
Penn Dental Medicine
My name is Cody Dazen, and I am currently a third year dental student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. I am originally from southern NJ, but my family has since relocated to Old City, Philadelphia. I attended college at the University of Pennsylvania, where I played NCAA Division 1 golf and recieved my Bachelor of Arts in 2017. My calling towards a career in dentistry stems from my mother, who is currently practicing as a general dentist in Mt. Holly NJ. In dental school, my love for problem solving, medicine, and surgery has grown in part thanks to my father (a veterinarian) and brother (who is beginning Anesthesiology residency at Jackson Memorial/UMiami this July). Family, faith, and fun have always been very important values to me. As I continue my education, I hope to specialize as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and will be applying to residency programs this 2021-2022 cycle. I am incredibly honored to have my research abstract selected for presentation at the AAOMS Annual Conference this year. I look forward to the invaluable opportunity to collaborate with professionals and to expand my knowledge of OMS scientific and clinical research.
