A combined horizontal and vertical ridge deficiency is the hardest bone defect to treat successfully when it arrives to dental implant rehabilitation. It is well-established that in order to gain significant vertical bone, a rigid mesh/membrane is crucial for graft stability. The most difficult aspect of this complex procedure is contouring a titanium mesh in a way that supports the ideal ridge while keeping the graft material immobilized. Common complications are associated with these reconstructions that may prevent surgeons from attempting to tackle these cases. Yxoss CBR is now the first patient-specific, custom titanium scaffold used to regenerate the most complex bone defects. Based on CAD/CAM technology and using CT images, this will simplify how the most complicated ridge deficiencies are reconstructed. This presentation will demonstrate how these complex ridge deficiencies have traditionally been treated and where the pitfalls tend to lie. Accordingly, the goal is to present the workflow, advantages and key concepts to overcome the most difficult aspect of these cases.
