At the Physician MBA program at the IU Kelley School of Business, we believe physicians should drive healthcare change.
About us
Healthcare is not just any business. Its complexities require a clinical lens to increase patient quality and outcomes, improve efficiency, and lower costs. That's why our faculty started the Kelley School of Business Physician MBA Program. We believe physicians should be driving healthcare change. Designed for physicians, our 21-month program is focused at the intersection of medicine and business. It combines business and leadership fundamentals with specialized, contemporary healthcare courses--unique from any you'll find at traditional or executive MBA programs elsewhere. Michelle Fenoughty, MD, MBA'16, says learning business made all the difference. She couldn't do her job without the knowledge and skills learned in the Kelley Physician MBA. "You'll be much better at making business decisions and giving advice to executive colleagues, especially when an issue impacts physicians' roles," says the Chief Medical Officer and OB/GYN at Hendricks Regional Health (Ind.). "But just as important, learning business will make you a better clinician--because you'll see medicine differently." The Kelley Business of Medicine Physician MBA will empower you. You'll understand your abilities as a physician leader and how to leverage them. You'll learn new techniques to build on your strengths and to mitigate your weaknesses. You'll be more confident and better positioned to negotiate healthcare's turbulent waters. Accordingly, you'll become a more effective physician leader. Studying at the intersection of medicine and business will change your perspective on the role of physicians in healthcare leadership. Now is the time to lead--because physicians are the catalysts for driving healthcare change.

Our Physician MBA Program empowers doctors to lead the changes in healthcare they see every day. “I fully believe we don’t need to spend one penny more than we do on healthcare in the U.S. But we must organize ourselves in a different way to do a better job, especially for women and children. That doesn’t necessarily take more money; it just takes more organization,” said Celanie Christensen, MD, MBA’24, a neurodevelopmental pediatrician at Riley Children’s Health. Join her for a physician-led April 22 webinar to learn more about the impact of earning the Kelley Physician MBA and how she's applied it to advance her career. Register today! https://bit.ly/3VC5Z1y

A neurodevelopmental pediatrician at Riley Children’s Health, Celanie Christensen, MD, MBA’24 is among a handful of specialists board-certified in neurodevelopmental disabilities in the entire state. She decided to earn our Physician MBA to become a better advocate to lead change. “Medicine is a business, whether we like it or not, and understanding that language will better position me to take care of kids with developmental disabilities at Riley. Ideally, I’d like to expand throughout the state and, potentially, nationwide.” Learn how one neurodevelopmental pediatrician is leading change using what she learned in our Physician MBA. https://bit.ly/4ax8Xso
