Dr. Garcia-Diaz is a native from Lima, Peru and currently the Director Clinical Infectious Diseases Research and Multispecialties; in addition she serves as the Director for Medical Student Research, University of Queensland, Ochsner Clinical School. Dr. Garcia-Diaz earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University, New Orleans and completed her internship, residency and infectious diseases fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center. She is board certified in Infectious Diseases and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1998. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Tulane and an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland, Brisban, Australia. Dr. Garcia-Diaz is a prolific researcher who is active internationally in the field of infectious diseases, a certified Certifies Principal Investigator, and directs the infectious diseases clinical research. She is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American College of Physicians. Her professional interests include infections following organ transplantation and other immunocompromised hosts; and most recently all COVID-19 related research.
