Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Gloria has used her background and training in pediatric infectious diseases, epidemiology and biostatistics to address infectious disease issues in children within the US and globally. She currently works on chlamydia and other sexually transmitted diseases (STD) that have reproductive effects in women. Her main research focus is on chlamydia serology and its potential role in sequelae including pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility. Ultimately, she hopes her work will better define STDs that can have long term effects for teenagers and older women.
